Years ago five friends, including myself have set down to cook up a plan to make the world a better place. Since all of them were mothers with young children very soon their focus turned to playgrounds.
And since some of them had severely disabled children they set their mission to build inclusive playgrounds. This was the beginning of MagikMe Playgrounds. Years have passed, playgrounds with inclusive equipment have popped up, disabled kids began to play together with their able bodied peers. Some of the friends have started an NGO to achieve inclusion not only in the physical environment but in the minds too. This was the beginning of Association for Inclusion. They work tirelessly and in very creative ways on changing attitudes in the schools, in the workplaces, in our communities.
This Autumn, my dear friends at the Association have launched a fantastic campaign, Charity Dinners where ambassadors of the Association host dinners to groups of supporters – to friends, in fact. In return for the delicious dinner and the lovely evening with friends, the guests donate the price of a dinner to the Association.
